Miami's High Population Density and Sharp Decline in Crime Outshines Other Florida Cities

Comparing Population Density and Crime across five major Florida Cities.

Astonishing Findings: The City of Miami's high population density and a sharp decline in crime outshine Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville. This is a remarkable accomplishment. From 2012 to 2018, Miami nearly cut crime in half while increasing its density.

Tampa, Florida, has the lowest crime rates among major Florida cities.

Tampa has the lowest crime rate and the second-highest population density. However, it's important to note that Miami has four times Tampa's population density, and crime is slightly less than twice Tampa’s. These figures make Miami even more impressive.

The City of Miami also has the highest rent and median income growth trends.

The City of Miami also has the highest average trend across median income and rent growth, although the other four Florida cities are not far behind. It would be interesting to see how Miami stacks up against New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
